As we kick off 2026, January has already set a fantastic pace at Headingley Stadium. From sporting moments to industry events and strengthened partnerships, here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this month.
🏉 A Big Crowd for the Cameron Smith Testimonial
We were proud to host the Cameron Smith Testimonial match, where Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club delivered an emphatic 46–16 victory over local rivals Bradford Bulls RLFC . The atmosphere across the stadium was electric, and it was a privilege to celebrate Cameron’s contribution to the club alongside supporters, players, and partners.
A Thoughtful Celebration of Life Showcase
This month we welcomed industry leaders from across the region for our Celebration of Life Showcase. The event was warmly attended and offered an important opportunity to share ideas, build connections, and highlight how Headingley can support meaningful commemorative events with care and sensitivity.
3‑Day Graduate Conference & Successful Transport Trial
We kicked off the year with a major three‑day graduate conference, bringing hundreds of delegates together for collaborative learning and development workshops.
As part of the event, we also successfully trialled a new transport partnership with Fourway Coaches, running shuttle services between Leeds city centre and Headingley Stadium — a positive step toward improving delegate experience and sustainable event travel.
🤝 Strengthening Industry Connections
Our team Leanne Stocks and Sophie Wilby have been out and about this month, attending two fantastic networking events:
- Conference Care networking event in Leicestershire
- Meetings Industry Association Networking Dinner at The Grand, York
Both events were brilliant opportunities to connect with industry colleagues, share best practices, and explore new partnerships for 2026.
