At Headingley Stadium Events, sustainability is more than a commitment – it’s a responsibility that influences the decisions we make every day. From reducing waste and improving energy efficiency to supporting local businesses, we’re continually looking for ways to minimise our environmental impact while delivering exceptional experiences for our guests.

As part of this ongoing commitment, we’re delighted to introduce our new Local Supplier Map, highlighting many of the catering and beverage suppliers that help bring our food and drink offering to life.

Headingley Sustainability - Supplier Map

Supporting Local Businesses

The map showcases key suppliers located throughout Yorkshire and the North of England, including the likes of Sykes House Farm in Wetherby and Taylor’s in Newcastle. These trusted partners provide a range of products that contribute to the high-quality hospitality experience enjoyed by event organisers, delegates and guests at Headingley Stadium.

By working with businesses closer to home wherever possible, we can help support regional economies, strengthen local relationships and reduce food miles associated with transporting products across the country.

Reducing Food Miles and Carbon Emissions

One of the simplest ways to reduce the environmental impact of catering operations is by shortening supply chains. By sourcing many of our products from suppliers within relatively close proximity to the stadium, we can help reduce transportation distances and the associated carbon emissions.

Our new supplier map demonstrates the efforts being made across our hospitality operation to source quality ingredients and beverages from businesses that share our commitment to excellence and responsible practices.

A Practical and Responsible Approach

While we always aim to source locally wherever possible, we recognise that certain products are not readily available from local producers. Items such as some fruit, specialist ingredients and selected alcohol brands are often distributed through national supply networks.

In these cases, we take a practical approach by working through the depot closest to Headingley Stadium. This helps minimise transportation distances, reduce emissions and ensure continuity of supply, while still allowing us to offer guests the quality and variety they expect.

Sustainability is about making responsible choices at every stage of the supply chain, and we continually review our procurement processes to identify opportunities to reduce our impact further.

Part of a Wider Sustainability Journey

The Local Supplier Map forms part of our broader sustainability strategy and reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering events more responsibly. By understanding where our products come from and making conscious sourcing decisions, we’re helping to create a more sustainable future for our venue, our community and our customers.

Whether you’re attending a conference, corporate event, private celebration or matchday hospitality experience, you can be confident that sustainability remains a key consideration behind the scenes.

Because great events shouldn’t just leave a lasting impression on guests – they should leave a lighter footprint on the planet too.
