September was a month of unforgettable sporting moments, inspiring community spirit and exciting new developments here at Headingley Stadium.
On the field, we were proud to host two major fixtures. First came England’s ODI clash with Sri Lanka, with visitors edging a closely fought contest in front of a fantastic crowd.
While the result wasn’t the one England supporters were hoping for, it was another brilliant occasion showcasing international cricket at Headingley.
The very next day, Headingley was the stage for Leeds Rhinos‘ Betfred Super League Semi-Final against Warrington Wolves. Unfortunately, the Rhinos’ pursuit of Grand Final glory came to an end, bringing the season to a close in difficult circumstances.
Whilst disappointment was felt throughout the stadium, the occasion highlighted the incredible support and passion that continues to surround the club.
Away from the action, we were delighted to launch our brand-new online booking platform for ticketed events. The new system makes securing your place at our Christmas party nights easier than ever, allowing guests to book online with just a £15 deposit per person and settle the remaining balance up to two weeks before the event.
It’s a significant step forward in making event bookings more convenient and accessible for our customers.
September also brought one of the most inspirational moments we’ve witnessed at Headingley. We were honoured to support the one and only Sir Kevin Sinfield as he ran through the stadium during his latest fundraising challenge in aid of Motor Neurone Disease.
The Grand Finale marked Sir Kevin’s final 7 in 7 challenge, and it was incredible to see so many people lining the route to support a true Leeds Rhinos legend. His determination, generosity and commitment continue to inspire communities across the country, and we were proud to play a small part in such a special occasion.
As we move into autumn, preparations are well underway for a busy season of conferences, celebrations and festive events, and we look forward to welcoming many more visitors through our doors in the months ahead.
